Medical Director

Paul Miranda, MD

Healing Hands

Mobile Physician group is proud to introduce Paul Miranda MD.

Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he spent his school years along the beautiful Gulf Coast in Mobile. Initially, he was all set to dive into research, but soon realized his true passion lay in the clinical side of medicine.

He earned his Medical Degree from the University of South Alabama in 1998 and began his journey in pediatric residency in Knoxville. However, after his first year, the program closed, and he transitioned to a family medicine residency. Along the way, he received extra training in emergency medicine.

About ten years ago, he opened his first home-based primary care practice, specifically aimed at elderly patients struggling with mobility. He recognized that hospitalizations could be particularly dangerous for this population. By combining a targeted approach with a dedicated team, we achieved quicker diagnoses and closer follow-up for chronic conditions, leading to a significant decrease in hospitalization rates.

Since then, this model has been replicated numerous times. Our collaborative approach, where doctors and nurse practitioners work together, ensures frequent follow-ups and close medical observation. His mission is to bring essential healthcare to those who need it most but often struggle to access it.

When Dr. Miranda is not practicing medicine, he loves spending quality time with his family. Traveling is a favorite pastime, especially to lush forests and stunning beaches. He is married with two grown children who are in college, studying to be engineers. He and his wife, a nurse practitioner, work closely together on various projects, including home-based medicine and hospice care. They also enjoy reading, beach outings, hiking, and walking their dogs.
